In the software world, finding the right niche to target and owning that space is proven formula of success. If you can position yourself as a massive fish in a small pond, it becomes simple to jump from one vertical to another and replicate your wins at scale.

Atlatl Software has taken this approach and has been built to accelerate sales for manufacturers and distributors. Their fully integrated software stack is designed specifically for manufacturers and makes it easy for businesses to expand their reach and enable their customers to configure highly engineered and manufactured products.

How much is Atlatl Software doing in ARR?

Atlatl Software is a pure-play SaaS business that charges its customers on an annual subscription basis. While the company has grandfathered in customers at previously negotiated rates, the average new deal comes in at approximately $250k annually, CEO Marc Murphy shared.

Today, Atlatl Software serves 250 total customers and is doing $5M in ARR. Since bringing on Murphy as CEO in the middle of 2016, the company has experienced impressive growth by adding new customers and is up from $1.7M in ARR twelve months ago.

What is Atlatl Software’s churn?

As Atlatl Software continues to move upmarket, the company has been focused on churning older customers at lower price points. Today, the business is exhibiting 2% gross logo churn, with less than 1% gross revenue churn, monthly. Going forward, Murphy explained that the company will hit net negative revenue churn at some point in 2019.

Customer acquisition, for Atlatl Software, has come almost exclusively through inside sales to this point. At present, the company pays around $90k to land a new customer and receives payback immediately, charging between $250k and $500k in initial on-boarding and configuration fees.

How much has Atlatl Software raised?

Atlatl Software has grown to scale with $12M in venture capital from a non-institutional investor. With strong growth in the last 18 months, Murphy explained that the company will be looking to raise additional capital to accelerate growth sometime in 2019.

Atlatl Software’s team of 45 full-time employees is based in North Carolina with an off-shore QA team.
