In the world of sales, every opportunity to optimize your funnel could mean substantial contribution to your bottom line. If there is a way to increase the efficiency of your organization, it deserves serious consideration.

UpSync is a tool that helps business spend more time selling and less time searching. Their sales enablement platform assists companies in securing their brand and message by better organizing, managing, and sharing content.

How much is UpSync doing in MRR?

UpSync is a pure-play SaaS business that charges its customers on a per seat basis each month. Pricing varies based on volume, with the average seat generating approximately $25 in revenue monthly.

At this point in time, UpSync services around 100 total seats across 10 paying customers. According to CEO Brad Gilbert, the business is doing $2,500 in MRR today and is focused on driving growth through their land and expand model.

How much has UpSync raised?

In the early days, UpSync attempted to raise capital to fuel growth, but ultimately decided to remain bootstrapped. Gilbert explained that he invested $500k of his own money to get the company off the ground.

Launched in 2001 out of a marketing agency, the company’s first clients helped fund development of the software. While these enterprise customers have since churned, the business still receives new leads through organic channels each month.

Why won’t Gilbert shut down the business?

As a recently retired ski bum, Gilbert likes to fill his free time experimenting with growing the business. He believes there is still a large potential for small and medium-sized businesses to enter the digital world today and is passionate about serving this demographic. Gilbert mentioned that building the business has been fun and explained that he has no intentions to shut UpSync down in the near future.

Despite their relatively low revenue figures, he company remains profitable with just one freelancer building out the product.
